Kingdom of Deams celebrates spirit of Kishore Kumar new music

NEW DELHI: After mesmerising audiences with the adventures of gypsy prince Zangoora in its fi rst musical ‘Zangoora the gypsy prince, Kingdom of Dreams now celebrates the spirit of legendary playback singer Kishore Kumar with its new musical Jhumroo, which began screening on Sunday. Having enthralled audiences for over an year with ‘Zangoora’, the fi rst Bollywood- styled musical staged in the country, Kingdom of Dreams, India’s fi rst unique live entertainment destination, this weekend presented the fi rst show of Jhumroo, a musical comedy paying tribute to the spirit of Kishore Kumar at a special premiere show at Nautanki Mahal, a dynamic state of the art theatre in Gurgaon. The musical opened for the public yesterday. The grandiose stage production, that features actor Gaurav Gera and Shweta Gulati in lead roles bringing alive the magic of the legendary Kishore Kumar, has a cast of 100 that showcases the energy and drama of the play. Gaurav Gera, who has many popular television shows and Bollywood movies to his credit, is playing the male lead Bhola, a 25-year-old innocent boy who has dreams to become the singing idol of the country. Shweta Gulati, best known for her roles in Remix and Dill Mil Gaye on Indian television, plays Bhola’s love interest, Meena. She is a sweet simple girl with a little sense of humour and loves music herself. The story of the musical is about how Bhola achieves his dreams, a simple tale with a little bit of magic that will make the audience fall in love with him! The massive spectacle unfolding on the stage will dazzle the eyes and mesmerise the senses with its clever use of technology. Jhumroo is the second musical presentation by Kingdom of Dreams. ZANGOORA’ - The Gypsy Prince, world’s biggest cinematic themed theatrical musical commenced at the Nautanki Mahal fi fteen months ago and completed its run of over 600 successful shows earlier this month. Jhumroo and Zangoora shows will play alongside each day. There will be 6 shows each of Jhumroo and Zangoora during the week beginning Tuesday till Sunday. Saturday and Sunday matinee shows will be of Zangoora and evening shows will be of Jhumroo. The musical comedy Jhumroo has been produced by Wizcraft International Entertainment, Apra Group and Raghbeer Group of companies.
