Fashion show in support of ‘Beti’

MUMBAI: A unique fashion show was organised here last night with eminent personalities walking the ramp in support of ‘Beti’, a movement against female foeticide. The theme of the fashion show, conceived by social activist Anu Ranjan, was ‘Healthy is hot, Zero is out’ and ‘Curvy is in, Skinny is out’. Walking on the ramp were eminent personalities from the Entertainment & Fashion industry including Yuvika Chaudhary, Jaswir Kaur, Priyanka Batra, Priya Kataria, Shashi Ranjan, Juhi Paarmar,Bina and Talat Aziz, Vardha Nadiadwala, Rumi Jaffery and Reena and Rohit Gupta. “This time, along with awareness of female foeticide, we also wanted to send the message across to young impressionable girls to eat healthy. Girls should eat foods with right amount of nutrition rather than starve themselves to maintain their bodies and invite health problems” , Anu said. “These kinds of fashion shows should be organised regularly, for spreading a word of awareness against female foeticide and health related things, Health is important, physical as well as mental” , said Mansi Parekh, host of the show, sponsored by Gitanjali group and Yes Bank.
